Within 80 years and three generations, various families succeeded each other as owners of the estate. The legend was born in1855 when Château Guiraud became a Premier Grand Cru de Sauternes.
Surface : 15 ha. Soil : sandy gravel for 80% of the surface and clay gravel for the remainder. Harvest : Manual by 1 to 2 selections.
Golden colour and the nose is filled with tropical fruits, honey and rich spicy notes. The palate is crisp with intense flavours of pineapple, gooseberry, and hints of vanilla.
Fermentation : is done in new oak barrels that have been barrels previously used for the grand cru and it lasts 2 weeks. Ageing : 6 to 9 months in barrels
